Hooked on Phonics Learning App Reviews

I mistakingly deleted from my iPad and cant get my membership back. I called support and got charged twice for the app. Very upsetting & not worth it.

In my book this is a super value for so many decodable readers (over 60) with videos and games embedded. Since print awareness is a huge first hurdle with many children, the only improvement I would add is a better ABC song in the first step of the app, but like most families we do ABCs before starting the phonics. The word building games are an orderly approach to teaching phonics without having paper flash cards all over your living room floor or kitchen table!

Yesterday I was overjoyed that my daughter was catching on and reading so I purchased the Lifetime subscription. And today every time I try to start a step the app force closed. After spending $54.61 I really need/want this app to work. Very disappointed! Please fix bugs.

My pre-k child worked through the entire program. He really loved "playing" the game and I loved that he was learning to read. Once he was about half way through the program he got really excited about the imbedded ebooks. By the end of the program the books were his favorite part. Highly recommended.

We do this everyday and my 3 year old has really progressed.

Could not make sound work inside this app

It helps my brother to read. But the stories do not make sense at all

It is an awesome app. My son is reading for the first time in only about an hour using it. Well organized and developed. Kudos!

Great app! Is exactly what my 6yo needs who struggles with reading in school!

Overall I am happy with this app. However, I have 2 young children using the app on different levels. Even though they each have their own profiles, the app resets my daughter to r lower levels when her brother uses the app. It needs to track individual kids better.

This app is good overall. I use it with my special needs daughter. However, there are some words that I dont like on this app, one is dam and another is gun. My daughter doesnt need to spell or recognize the word gun and dam isnt my favorite either. I think young readers and special needs children shouldnt be exposed to dam or gun in their quest to learn to read. I feel the app creators should address and remove.

We were having trouble getting reading rolling with my homeschooled kindergartener. This app was just the boost we needed. She was reading by the first day, and feeling excited and empowered. With each level she gains in speed and skill.

I have little cousin that go to pre-school and they love this! Its usually hard to find a game thats reading without paying for the first couple of games! I love this!

This is a great app for teaching kids the reading basics and how to read. My son loves it. We do at least 35 minutes every day. He has become a great reader using this app. I recommend parents start using this app as early as possible for their kids. You wont be disappointed! Your kids will be an excellent scholar!

This looks great but it wont load. A huge bummer after I paid for it. Dont waste your money.

DO NOT BUY! I am glad I just bought 1 month subscription,as soon as I downloaded step 2, I cant get the app to work. It force crashes every single time. Developer hasnt released any update since October 2015. Its a scam

This app was great, and had my 3.5 year old reading right away with our foundation of letters and the sounds they make. The only issues is the price packages. If it was around $20, Id be all over it but I can make something to the same effect for dollars. Also, the words when doing practice reading are too close together and makes it confusing to end each word rather then keep on sounding them out.

I love this app! My four year old just read me a story. Ive finally found an educational app that holds his attention like other games...except he actually learning to read.
